Scrolling gallery
The scrolling gallery presents your photos in a horizontal strip, all at the same height. Each photo keeps its proportions, with no cropping or empty bars: you can mix landscape and portrait photos. Visitors scroll through the strip at their own pace and open a photo full screen with a single click.
Adding a scrolling gallery
- In the palette, under Media, drag the “Scrolling gallery” card onto your page.
- In the inspector, click “Edit photos” to add your photos.
- Set the photo height and the spacing between photos directly in the inspector.
What visitors see
- The strip scrolls by dragging, with the mouse or a finger, or with a horizontal swipe on the touchpad.
- The arrows advance one page at a time, that is, by all visible photos.
- The vertical mouse wheel still scrolls the page: the strip doesn't hijack it.
- Clicking a photo opens it full screen, with its title and text as a caption. A photo that has a link opens that link instead.
Inspector settings
- Photo height: the height of the strip, adjustable per screen (360 px by default, 240 px on phones). Each photo's width follows from its proportions.
- Spacing between photos: adjustable per screen (8 px by default).
- All properties: opens the “Scrolling gallery properties” window, described below.
The “Scrolling gallery properties” window
“Slides” tab
- “Add a slide” creates a new photo: click the button to add it, or drag it into the list to choose its position.
- Reorder photos by drag and drop. “Delete selected slides” removes the selected photos.
- For each photo, enter its title, its text and, if needed, a link. The title and text form the full-screen caption.
“General properties” tab
- Photo height and Spacing between photos, as in the inspector.
- Free scrolling, without stopping at each photo: the strip glides with momentum and stops wherever the gesture takes it, instead of snapping to the edge of a photo.
- Control arrows: show or hide them, and set their size and colors.
- Maximum resolution: the maximum size of published photos, both in the strip and full screen.
“Slide text properties” tab
This tab configures the caption displayed on the full-screen photo. The title and text don't appear on the photos in the strip: they are reserved for full screen.
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Show text area on slides | Displays the caption in full screen. When unchecked, neither the title nor the text is displayed. |
| Text block position | Places the caption on the photo: top, middle or bottom; left, center or right. |
| Text block background | Background color, rounded corners, outer margin (the distance from the edge of the photo) and inner margin. |
| Full width, Full height | Extends the caption across the full width or full height of the photo. |
| Title properties, Text properties | Font, color and size of the title and text, as well as the space between the title and text. |
